This new 72,550 SF school features an efficient two-story design which requires less maintenance and offers more usable space than the original school. The building is organized with four color-coded corridors that connect to the spacious two-story lobby. Visitors are routed through the main office with subtle, friendly security. The facility includes many sustainable elements including a geothermal loop and heat pumps for an energy-efficient heating and cooling system. Commissioning of building systems, recycling of construction materials and the use of renewable and recyclable resources was also employed. Access drives and parking are located on previously undeveloped areas of the site, with a playground sited over the ground-source geothermal loop. The campus includes two new baseball fields which are shared with a local little league organization.
