For nearly a century, Finlandia University has served the people of Hancock and has supported the Finnish tradition that characterizes this Upper Peninsula community.  TMP appropriately designed and constructed this residence hall to respect the Finnish heritage. The coed dormitory sits atop a steep hill, overlooking campus.  A steep pitched roof and carefully selected masonry are compatible with existing campus architecture.  The building and its windows face south to take advantage of the sun’s warmth during the harsh winters. Inside, in quiet study areas or comfortable living spaces, students can attend to the realities of college life. Associated firm: Herman Gundlach
