Following a successful community bond vote, Jeffers Elementary School was transformed to meet current educational standards and beyond, while maintaining the tradition of the existing building. A new secure entrance welcomes visitors, while a new media center, spacious commons, and shared collaboration studios embody exciting changes inside. A new addition includes a gymnasium, cafeteria, stage, music room, and kitchen.

The design theme for Jeffers Elementary, located on the outskirts of the village in a wooded area, is the forest. This natural elements is reflected in color, finished, and furniture within. The commons area feature wall was constructed of dark wood, relating to the dense surrounding woods.

Versatile and adaptable new learning studios along the two-story educational wings were designed within active learning pedagogies. A collaboration station connects classrooms, and movable furniture allows teachers to configure rooms in multiple ways.

Technology upgrades include a new network and server, staff interactive workstations with classroom presentation systems, as well as a new video surveillance system.
